This new series of international financial services conferences, was held on Thursday 3 to Friday 4 November 2011 at the Royal house kindly made available by Her Majesty the Queen for important international conferences, Cumberland Lodge, in Windsor Great Park close to London.
The conference featured sessions with the chairs of the three new European Supervisory Authorities. We were joined by Andrea Enria, Chairman, European Banking Authority (EBA), Steven Maijoor, Chair, European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), Gabriel Bernardino , Chair, European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA),
Michel Barnier,
European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services, and Jean-Baptiste de Franssu, Chief Executive Officer of INCIPIT are amongst other top level speakers.
The conference, like its predecessors, which were held at Wilton Park, is a centre for high level international discussion between the leaders of regulatory authorities, stock exchanges, investors, asset managers and leading market participants.
This year's theme ‘Financial Regulation and the Dynamics of Saving and Investment Markets' addressed the twin subjects of the impact of new regulatory measures and the rebuilding of trust and development of new products in savings and investment; both to contribute to the strengthening of the European economy.
The conference was chaired by David Wright , recently Deputy Director General for Financial Services in the European Commission.
